How to make your routine work?

Body streamlining is even more effective when you add a little love and curiosity and lots of pleasure and motivation…

1. Love

Love your body. Look at the good points (yes, they are there, look carefully!) and show them off. Treat yourself to waxing, manicures and pretty lingerie… you'll soon feel even more beautiful and motivated to go even further.

2. Curiosity

Look for your strong points and your weak points and try to understand where your complexes come from. You can ask your Clarins Beauty Advisor about any beauty question. The questions you don't want to ask are often the most important.

Over a few days, make a note of what you eat, when you rest, your physical activity and how you feel… you'll learn quickly how to resist temptation and stick to your objectives.

3. Pleasure

Looking after your well-being should be a pleasure. Whatever your objective, always start by resisting the things which tempt you most by working out in the gym, adopting a more healthy diet, embarking on skin care treatments; and don't forget to reward yourself. You should be proud when you turn your bad habit to a good one! Treat yourself to a bouquet of flowers or a new lipstick… avoid cakes and biscuits!

4. Routine

Do things one after the other and don't change your way of life all of a sudden or you'll give up quickly. Beauty shouldn't be a trial! As soon as you have acquired one good habit, like a balanced diet or physical exercise, then start working on the next one.

5. Perseverance

Beauty forever = good habits forever…
Whatever your objective, perseverance is the key to success.

6. Patience

Make sure your objective is sensible in terms of your target, « my skin will be better in a week, in a month it will be firmer and in three months, I'll be slimmer… » Don't forget that gradual weight loss equals long term weight loss, particularly after pregnancy.

This is even truer at 40 than at 20 because with time, your skin naturally becomes less supple and toned.

7. Sharing

We live with others every day so make sure you find yourself in situations where you can show your body to others. Go back to the swimming pool, take up a dance class…facing up to how others see you is the encouragement you need to keep going, the desire to please and to become more beautiful… Tell your friends about your streamlining objectives if they invite you to dinner, entertaining can be low calorie too!

8. Strategy

Slimming must be a pleasure not a trial so make sure you choose the right time to start. Avoid the months immediately after pregnancy or times of tiredness or stress. Get back in touch with your body by treating yourself to an "instant effect" exfoliating treatment at the Institute.

9. Balance

A balanced diet, physical exercise and skin care are the ideal recipe for easy beauty. Choose your favourite first to make sure you don't give up and simply do as much as you can for the rest.

10. Relaxation

Start smiling as soon as you wake up and you'll be less stressed. If troubled times lies ahead, take a deep breath and relax your shoulders. Set aside some time just for you, these precious moments are essential for your own well-being and that of those around you.
